Mercy Ministries in Guyana
This website offers an introduction to the ministries founded and/or energized by Sisters of Mercy, Associates, Mercy Corps Volunteers and dedicated colleagues. Guyana is located on the northern coast of South America. Culturally it is more associated with the Caribbean than with Latin America and is the only English-speaking country in South America. It is part of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and is a multicultural nation. It is a country of many needs, most notably maintaining qualified, educated adults in the country. Guyana is known for its incredible "brain drain" and the highest emigration rates in South America.
In this context, the Mercy Community of sisters, associates, mercy corps volunteers and colleagues offer their hearts, skills and dedication to and with the people of Guyana, one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere.
Help the Ministries
All of the ministries are in tremendous need of assistance. We are very grateful for any support you can offer: prayer, friendship, your talent/time/skills and of course financial. Until we are able to make arrangements for a PayPal system for donations, we encourage you to consider sending a donation for one of the ministry of your choice.
Donations can be sent to:
Sisters of Mercy/Institute Office

Thank you and God Bless.
